What we keep.

Conversations with someone should stay between you. We keep as little about you as we can, and only to make the characters work and keep the service safe. This page is the honest, full version. Kyndred is the controller of your data; our legal entity and data-protection contact are on our contact page, and you can reach us about anything here through that same form.

What we collect, and why

• ◇ Your conversations with Maya (text, and the memory we build from them) so she stays herself with you across sessions and across web and Telegram. Basis: performing our contract with you.
• ◈ Voice in voice mode is turned into text to power the conversation. Basis: performing our contract with you.
• ♬ Account and payment records from Stripe (email, amount, date, last 4 digits, subscription status). We never store full card numbers. Basis: contract, and our legal obligations.
• ♥ A visitor id and essential cookies so the service works and remembers your session. Basis: contract, or your consent for anything non-essential.
• ◇ Safety review and limited, pseudonymous usage metrics (such as session length or whether voice was used) to keep characters safe and working. Basis: our legitimate interest in a safe, working service.

Sensitive conversations

People tell characters real things, and a conversation can reveal sensitive details, about health, beliefs, or your relationships and sex life, which the law treats as special-category data. Where we knowingly use that kind of detail to shape how a character responds to you, we do it on the basis of your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time by writing to us or deleting your data.

Memory and profiling

Maya builds a memory: a profile of what matters to you, so the relationship can grow. This is profiling, but it isn't a decision made about you with legal or similarly significant effects, and there is no solely-automated decision-making of that kind here. You can see, edit, and delete what she remembers, and ask us for the rest.

How long we keep it

We keep your conversations and memory while your account is active so the relationship holds. When you delete your data or close your account, we remove it from both the web and Telegram stores, save for what we must keep for a short, lawful period (for example, payment records for tax and accounting). Backups roll off on a normal cycle.

Who else processes it

We use a small set of providers to run Kyndred, each under a data- processing agreement and only for the purpose below:

• ◇ Stripe: payments and subscriptions.
• ◈ Supabase: accounts and database.
• ♬ Resend: transactional email.
• ♥ Cerebras, SambaNova, Groq: the language models that power the characters.
• ◇ ElevenLabs: voice. Deepgram: turning your speech into text in voice mode.
• ◈ Anthropic: powers the free Ana and Lila demos.

Some of these are outside the EEA and UK. Where they are, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses, and we ask our model providers not to train their public models on your conversations.

What we don't do

• ◇ We don't sell your personal data.
• ◈ We don't run third-party ad trackers.
• ♬ We don't train public models on your private conversations.

Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to work, and a visitor id so a character remembers your session. Anything beyond that, such as non-essential analytics, we only set with your consent.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you your data, correct it, delete it, hand it to you to take elsewhere, or stop a particular use, and you can withdraw any consent at any time. To delete everything, conversations, memory, cookies, the whole thing, just ask through our contact form and include the email on your account. We respond within one month (and tell you if a complex request needs a little longer). You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Security and breaches

We protect your data with reasonable technical and organisational measures. If something goes wrong in a way that puts your data at risk, we notify the relevant authority within 72 hours where required, and we tell you directly when the risk to you is high.

The free demos

Ana and Lila on this site run without an account. What you type is processed to generate a reply (through Anthropic and ElevenLabs), tied only to a temporary visitor id. We don't build a lasting identified profile from the demos or use demo chats to train models.

Children

Kyndred is for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we delete it and close the account.
